It started as a motoring column to help empower women on the road. But today it has evolved into advocacy that helps women be better versions of themselves.

Back in 2014, I partnered up with Host and Media Personality Issa Litton to organize the first-ever Chicdriven Expo. I was pregnant with my twins at that time, my 4th and 5th child. I was also an entrepreneur who was handling 3-4 businesses with my husband. A lot of women are in the same shoes as I am, all trying to be superwoman.

But the reason I could balance (sort of) my crazy life is through the support of my family, friends and passionate people who shared their knowledge, inspired and empowered me to be a better version of myself.

This gave me the idea of creating an event that can bring together individuals to share their life hacks to help women with their multifaceted lives.  The Expo featured free seminars on Road Safety, Entrepreneurship, Parenting, financial wellness, Better me (beauty, health, and fashion) and cooking demos.

Now running on its 4th year, the Expo is slated on September 29 & 30 at the Alabang Town Center and is supported by La Germania, Nissan Philippines, Standard Insurance, Krispy Kreme, Bioderma, Marie France, Philippine Daily Inquirer and Facial Care Centre.

This year we are excited to share the experience of creating your own vision board with Trixie Esguerra. Marie Kondo’s Konmari certified trainer Christine Dychiao will discuss tips on the “art of tidiness” for our home matters. Husband and wife team, Chefs Rolando and Jacque Laudico will once again provide us with cooking demos. Tips on how to better take care of ourselves with Chris Villonco, Bianca Santiago and Patty Laurel-Filart for the Better Me.

A special wellness segment presented by Tessa Prieto-Valdez on Saturday will include a Zumba Session and a Gong Blessing with Yoga Expert Rosan Cruz.

Also, a big part of the expo is our breast cancer awareness advocacy with Zonta Club of Alabang. The “Dibdib ko, Alaga ko” Campaign this year will include a 2-part program which will consist of the Pink Bra Fun Run and free breast screening on weekends in October at Alabang Town Center. A breast cancer seminar given by the CHO and GAD offices of the City of Muntinlupa will also be one of the event highlights.

The Pink Bra Fun Run is open to all runners ages 18 and above will happen on Sept 30 at 630 AM at the ATC parking lot. The 3K course will have several activity stations which participants need to complete.  The first 3 finishers for both male and female category will be awarded prizes from our sponsors. Registration fee is 500 pesos and finishers will be treated to Krispy Kreme Donuts, and finishers loot bags.

The say the surefire way to happiness is to give back. And I usually say you cannot give what you don’t have.  So, this year join us as we share, inspire and empower… to be a better you and me!
