Chicdriven Expo Calls for Positive Mindset Change
Almost two thousand attendees came together to celebrate and promote RESPECT at the
Chicdriven Women Empowerment Expo held at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center. The Expo’s
overall theme, CHICPLUS+ is a positive mindset change campaign that encourages women to
celebrate diversity and respect each other in spite of differences in opinion, body shape,
parenting style, marital status, etc.

Opening the Expo was Steven Tan, MAZDA Philippines CEO & President; Isabel Oli – Pratz,
PLDT Home Fibr Ambassadress, Tootsy Echauz – Angara along with organizers Jeanette
Ipapo-Tuason and Issa Litton. The Expo was inspired from Tuason’s Chicdriven Column seen
in the motoring section of the Inquirer.
Highlights of the Expo included talks on Life Balance by Tootsy Angara, Celebrity Mom Editor
Marga Tupaz and Jeanette Tuason; all accomplished women both in family and professional life.
They shared their life hacks on how to juggle family, work and time for oneself.
PLDT Home Fibr’s Be your Own Boss featured social entrepreneur Reese Fernandez –Ruiz,
President of Rags2Riches; Online Businesses Skinni by Meryll Yan and Diet Diva by Kakki
Teodoro; they discussed how they launched successful internet based business and also being
mindful on how one can help their community.
Participants were treated to a La Germania Cooking Demo by Rocker Chef Rolando Laudico; he
did Filipino-Italian inspired dishes such as Balsamic glazed Adobo Steak for the audience to
enjoy. Another special workshop on computer coding was conducted by Powermac Center.
The Mazda Drives Segment featured Wiji Lacsama, Tattoo Artist, Perfumer & Mother; Tal de
Guzman, Shoe Designer and Social Entrepreneur and Nadine Howell-Fanio, Owner of Pedro
Brewers; along with TRS –Driver Development Academy’s JP Tuason and Billy Billano. They
talked about the double standard prevalent in society specially those stereotypes on the road.
On the Second day, Yoga Teacher and Triathlete Bubbles Paraiso; Photographer/Model Sara
Black and Vision Board Expert, Trixie Esguerra shared their journey on finding their passion.
Actress and fitness buff Aubrey Miles, Mega Magazine Beauty Editor Trina Epilepsia, Sam Oh
and Riki Flo shared their tips on improving one’s body thru exercise, a little help from Marie
France and not believing the illusionary perfect image projected by the media.
Attendees were brought up their feet during the “I LOVE ME” segment. This capsule workshop
was conducted by Life Coach, Kimi Lu and Best selling author Marianne Mencias.
The Expo was capped off by a PASSION SHOW, a showcase where women of all shapes and
sizes, beliefs and life choices all coming together to celebrate diversity and respect for each other
and radiate positivity. They wore the latest collection from Marks and Spencer and Butterfly
Twist shoes; make up was provided by Estee Lauder and Hair by L’oreal Proffessionel and Jessie Mendez Salon.
